Louis Vuitton “Vitesse” vintage poster
Louis Vuitton “Vitesse” vintage poster. Printed on very high quality canvas paper with linen back.
Translated this poster reads:
September 10 thru 11, 1994 – Classic Car Contest and Louis Vuitton at Parc de Bagatelle, The Parc de Bagatelle.
The park is situated at the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, is one of the City of Paris’s four botanical gardens. Created in 1775, the park and its chateau were built in 64 days after a wager between Queen Marie-Antoinette and her brother in-law, the Count of Artois. The Parc de Bagatelle is a great place for walking and relaxing. As well as giant trees and varied plant life, little bridges, rocks, caves, expanses of water and artificial waterfalls add to the charm and romantic aspect of the park.
Gerard Courbouleix-Deneriaz, commonly known as Razzia, is the artist behind this and so many vintage Louis Vuitton prints. 1994 Concours Automobiles Classiques et Louis Vuitton // Parc de Bagatelle, celebrate the luxury house of Louis Vuitton in a way that speaks of age-old refinement.
Louis Vuitton Malletier, commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton, or shortened to LV, is a fashion house and luxury retail company founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton. The label’s LV monogram appears on most of its products, ranging from luxury trunks and leather goods to ready-to-wear, shoes, watches, jewelry, accessories, sunglasses and books. Louis Vuitton is one of the world’s leading international fashion houses; it sells its products through standalone boutiques, lease departments in high-end department stores.
This luxury brand lends itself to the world of high-end automobiles in the form of Vitesse die cast model cars seen in this poster.
Because of detail and realism of the models, Vitesse gained increasing popularity in the late 1980s and 1990s. Models were often similar in concept to French Solido, though less toy-like and more oriented to collectors. Conceptually, then, Vitesse falls somewhere between Solido and the Italian Brumm in presentation. Though die cast, and realistic, models were rather fragile. Pieces tended to fall off, bodies separated from chassis and paint sometimes peeled – but in good condition they were impressive.
Here we see a steering wheel with a speeding Vitesse model car in the center of the poster promoting this classic car show that is annually held in Paris.

The beautiful wood beads on the frame highlight the roundness of the steering wheel and the circles in the spokes. The conservation framing of this poster and UV protective plexiglass have protected this piece from the damage that sunlight that would normally create. The print has not faded and deteriorated. The result is a poster in excellent condition with all of the colors still remaining vivid. Because plexiglass is used rather than traditional glass, the piece is lighter and much easier to hang on a wall. There is no point in buying and owning a vintage poster if you allow sunlight to deteriorate it over time.
Perfect for a car enthusiast’s bedroom, den or office.
